In Munich on November 29, 2023, the Neue Weststadt Esslingen climate quarter was presented with the ODH-Quartier Awards 2023.


At the ODH(Open District Hub e.V.) Autumn Forum 2023, three outstanding district projects that have made a particular contribution to the sector coupling of electricity, heat and mobility were honored for the first time this year in the categories of innovation, integration and impact. In the Impact category, the prize went to the Neue Weststadt Esslingen climate district.


In Esslingen am Neckar, Germany's first climate-neutral hydrogen district with 500 apartments, office and commercial space and a university has been built in recent years on the site of the former goods station. You can find more information about the project at
