Energy-conscious living in the Sommerfeld development area, Wolfsburg - Wendschott

Project description

Under the motto "Energy-conscious living", the "Sommerfeld" development area with 170 residential units is being built in the Wendschott district of Wolfsburg. The urban planning design envisages an area center within a rectangular development ring with an open two-storey building style. Single-storey detached and semi-detached houses are to be built outside the ring.

The development area is connected to the district heating network of the city of Wolfsburg. It is also possible to generate heat using brine/water heat pumps in combination with geothermal energy and solar thermal systems.

The aim is to build a "5-liter estate" with an average annual primary energy requirement of 50 kWh/(m²-a). In order to achieve this goal, property developers and private builders in the Sommerfeld development area are being supported by the company Moretti Haus- und Immobilienkonzepte over and above the state subsidies. In cooperation with the Institute for Building and Solar Technology at the Technical University of Braunschweig, free seminars are being offered on the subject of "Energy-conscious building in the Sommerfeld development area". In addition, developers and building owners can obtain information and advice in personal meetings. The construction of low-energy and passive houses is subsidized with a grant of up to €2000 from the Moretti company.

In addition to the qualification of developers, architects and builders and support during construction, the Sommerfeld construction area will be monitored by the Institute for Building and Solar Technology after completion.
