Building automation is the key to innovative and resource-efficient buildings. Due to its complexity and inadequate quality management, however, it is often unable to fully exploit its potential in practice and sometimes even becomes a nuisance due to malfunctions.
In the GA Spec&Check project, the IGS, together with the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences and synavision GmbH, is developing a methodology for effective quality management of automation systems. On the basis of so-called active function descriptions, automation functions can be specified for the first time using simple description tools and automatically checked during operation.
The project is developing the basis for practical application. The methodology is being tested on 6 pilot buildings using the energy navigator software from synavision GmbH.
